The Global Gathering brings together groups from around the world working on the most urgent technology-related challenges affecting human rights, social justice, civil society, and journalism at the local, regional and global levels.
This looks to be a fantastic event! I applied, just at the last minute, and was accepted to come! Now I need to figure out how I am going to find my way there. I’ll share more here as I learn more.
I am indeed going to the Digital Rights Community Global Gathering! Super excited to connect with people from around the world, including some old friends from Kabissa days.
I’ve been asked to facilitate an hour-long circle about digital sovereignty, which is described in the program as below. Looking forward to taking this opportunity to listen to others and learn about their concerns and needs. And then seeing how that matches up with what we are learning about and doing here!
The Beginning: Addressing Common Challenges to Establishing Your Own Digitally Sovereign Tech Stack/Infrastructure in Low Resourced Environments
In this Circle, participants will discuss common challenges to establishing and maintaining their own digitally sovereign tech stack/infrastructure in low resourced environments—the collection of software applications, platforms, and tools needed to run your organization, network, or project. Together, we’ll explore practical solutions for overcoming these challenges, whether you’re just getting started or looking to strengthen infrastructure you already have in place. Come with your questions, learn about common pitfalls, and hear practical approaches and tools.
