From the docs:

Mixpost is a self-hosted social media management tool that makes it easy to handle your social media tasks and grow your content marketing efforts.

The software allows users to create, organize, and schedule their content for times when their audience is most engaged and active. Mixpost’s user-friendly scheduling system ensures that content publishing is seamless and efficient.

There was a talk at #fediday about mixpost (in German), which was recorded.

[https://ctalx.c-base.org/fediday-2026/talk/3LBTMA/https://ctalx.c-base.org/fediday-2026/talk/3LBTMA/](https://ctalx.c-base.org/fediday-2026/talk/3LBTMA/https://ctalx.c-base.org/fediday-2026/talk/3LBTMA/)

It seems to be a fully fledged package that offers pretty much everything you’d expect to see in a social media management platform. I had a look through the docs and am a bit bewildered by the three lite → enterprise options, given it is open source. More investigation required!

I am attracted to the idea of being able to post to all the platforms, and on a schedule, while not having to log into them all on an ongoing basis. But ultimately my personal takeaway from the talk is that I’d prefer to focus on my Discourse and Mastodon accounts, and occasionally post to LinkedIn, and not try too hard to be present everywhere all the time and to be too concerned about “reach” and the number of followers I might acquire, etc. Instead I can focus on nurturing real and meaningful relationships.
